Building Trust Through Transparency: New Updates to Shapemaker's Structural Reports
We’ve recently rolled out improvements aimed at helping users benchmark results more easily and understand key structural outputs at a glance. These updates focus on two main areas: enhancing our PDF report and adding new result visualizations directly in the app.
What's New in the PDF Report
Our full structural report already serves as an essential document for verifying analysis results. Now, it's even better. We've added several key pieces of information to support transparency and improve benchmarking:
- Global Reactions: See the total reaction forces on the tower for all wind directions included in the analysis.
- Tower Weight: The total weight of the tower structure is now clearly shown in both the geometry chapter and the summary table.
- Structural Drawings: A complete set of structural drawings is now included in the full report.
- Full Visibility of Wind Forces: Detailed wind forces for all wind directions, including forces on the structure and ancillaries, with the cscd factor and intermediate calculation values clearly displayed.
These updates make the report a stronger tool for documentation, review, and comparison across designs.
New In-App Result Visualizations
To make results even more accessible, we’ve also introduced new visualization features inside the app:
- Internal Force Diagrams: View the internal forces in the tower legs, along with their capacities, plotted for easy comparison and quick assessment.
- Twist and Sway (SLS): Quickly understand how the tower deforms along its height under serviceability load combinations (SLS), with simple elevation graphs for different wind directions.
- Peak Velocity Pressure Visualization – See the peak velocity pressure values directly in the app, making it easier to assess wind loading effects without diving into raw data tables.
These tools help engineers get a clearer picture of performance without needing to dig through numbers or export data.
